Oh right.

Did I mention I ran my first 5K on Sunday? I participated in the Susan G. Komen 5K in Denver with 55,000 of my closest friends. I felt very claustrophobic at first with so many people around me. However, I just maintained my pace and kept going. It was tempting to try and "race" other people around me, but I knew if I started that, I'd be walking before mile two came. There were five or six live bands performing throughout the route, and a few groups of local cheerleaders. Seeing other runners' pink signs (who they were running in memory or celebration of) inspired me. One guy was running in celebration of "The Ta-tas." I finished under my goal time too! My goal was 40 minutes and I came in around 36-38. :-D There was no official time, so I went by my phone. And yes, I really am that slow after five months of running.

  1. Congrats on the 5K girl!! That is a BIG accomplishment, and you should be proud of your time! My first 5k was close to the same!
